1311 Chapter 13 Snap Circuits
  • Write all answers in your bound journal
  • Make it NEAT and in COMPLETE SENTENCES, clearly identify which section you are working (using numbers)
  • Box final answers if doing math.
  • -4pt if you do not title and date the entry
  • -1pt (per infraction) if you do not clearly identify the sections, or number the problems

RULES:

  • Project Must be COMPLETED and Lab notebook TURNED IN, at the end of class on Thursday or Friday (depending on the class).
  • Snap circuit kits must be handled great care and not abused. Failure to do so will result in a discussion with Ms. Sieg about the honor code and school property.
  • All snap circuit kits must be put back into their proper storage areas (in the black case) three minutes prior to the end of class. You must show me the case (with all components properly secured) before leaving class.
  • If being used, all multimeters must be switched to OFF and left on top of the snap circuit kit.

Using the SNAP circuit kit: 105 pts

  1. You will have two full class periods to design four circuit diagrams (you may use the manual as a guide).
  2. Neatness will count for all diagrams so take your time when drawing them.
Your lab book should have the following information in it prior to drawing the circuits
    • 5pts - Purpose (you decide as a group what the written purpose should be, why do you think we are doing the exercise)
    • 40pts - Each circuit should be drawn in your lab book (10pts each circuit diagram, see below for example) Make the circuits as neat as possible.
    • 20pts - You must show me the completed functional circuit and have me check it off in the grade book.
    • 40pts - Immediately under the drawing, you will make a schematic each component with (10pts for schematic diagram) (example below).
    • To find wiring schematic symbols (http://www.rapidtables.com/electric/electrical_symbols.htm).

Ohms - Volts - and Amps of each component is not needed
